The number of compensated work days lost per year due to illness per employed person. Excluding maternity leave.
Data are compiled by full-time equivalent (FTE) persons. The number of days is determined as number of absence hours converted to full time.
The source mentions regarding Sweden that "The rate is based on the number of compensated gross sick days. That means absence part of a day due to illness is counted as one day regardless of the percent of absence (25 percent, 50 percent or 75 percent) that day."
* Break in series in Norway.
** No 2021 and 2022 data for Denmark.
