Shipment volume of plastic food containers Japan 2020, by type
In 2020, the shipment volume of polystyrene (PS) plastic food containers manufactured by members of the Japan Plastic Food Container Industry Association in Japan amounted to 261 thousand metric tons. In that year, close to half of shipped plastic food containers were made from polystyrene. PET plastic food containers followed, with a shipment volume of 214 thousand metric tons.
