As of 2021, the total primary energy consumption in Egypt amounted to roughly 3.81 quadrillion British thermal units. Natural gas was the source with the highest share with up to 58.27 percent of the total energy consumption. Petroleum and other liquids came next with roughly 34.38 percent, while renewables and others', and coals' share was only 5.25 percent and 2.1, respectively.
