Share of Canadians intending to purchase at retail stores during COVID-19 2021
The number of U.S. consumers intending to visit grocery stores during that period had likewise grown positively.
Since the coronavirus pandemic severely impacted the world, much fewer people in Canada had been visiting physical stores and outlets. Over the many months, however, retail shopping intentions were growing positively once more: by April 2021, future intention to shop at grocery stores maintained strong, growing by approximately 30 percent among Canadian consumers, which is a considerable increase compared to the growth in September 2020.
