Average amount spent by French students on hygiene and health care 2020, by gender

In order to calculate the cost-of-living differential between male and female students, the source included in its study expense items that differed in amount depending on the gender assigned, like periodic protection, hairdressing, hair removal/shaving, and medical expenses. Regarding the budget for shaving and hair removal, it appears that in 2020, women spent almost three times more than male students. Cisgender male students spent on average no money on periodical protection, contraception or medication, while these three items of expenditure represented more than 142 euros per year for female students.
