During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, measures like social distancing and travel bans have been implemented globally to contain the spread of the virus. According to a July 2020 study, roughly 64 percent of respondents worldwide believed that technology could play an important role in minimizing human interactions while traveling during the pandemic. The country with the highest share of respondents that believed this was Thailand with 81 percent. Meanwhile, only 43 percent of German respondents thought that technology would play a role in minimizing human interaction while traveling.
