The detailed analysis consisted of an independent online survey among more than 13,000 German residents (October 2020) and research based on publicly available key performance indicators derived from Corporate Annual Reports, CSR Reports, Sustainability Reports and Corporate Citizenship Reports. The survey took into account roughly 2,000 companies headquartered in Germany. They needed to be employer to more than 500 people and listed on the German stock exchange or be among the most profitable within their industry sector. Excluded were the arms industry and companies with greenhouse gas emissions exceeding 10 metric tons per annum.
