Online share of education market in China 2016-2020, by sector

In recent years, the share of online education in the total education market increased considerably over all sub-sectors of the market. The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 further contributed to the acceleration of this development. Early childhood education and K-12 education in particular had still comparatively low online shares in 2016, but in 2020, the online share reached already about 18 and 12 percent respectively.
