In the financial year 2021/22, there were nearly 13 million of subscriptions to adult and junior individual savings accounts (ISAs) in the United Kingdom (UK). Most of those subscriptions were for adult ISAs, although the number of contributions to junior accounts increased rapidly after their introduction in 2011. ISA subscriptions peaked at over 15 million in 2008/09 and 2010/11. The type of account with the highest number of subscriptions was cash ISAs.
