Quarterly general government expenditure in Libya 2019-2020
In the first quarter of 2020, the total public expenditure in Libya declined to about 6.5 billion Libyan dinars (around 1.45 billion U.S. dollars) after peaking in the last quarter of 2019 at over 45 billion Libyan dinars (approximately 10 billion U.S. dollars). The dramatic decrease in government spending coincided with the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Previously, the first three quarters of 2019 saw a rapid increase in expenditures.
