2020 has definitely influenced the relationship of the French with their homes. The health crisis and the development of telecommuting have had many consequences on the behavior of households and their plans to purchase home equipment. At the end of the year, 40 percent of people reported wanting to purchase new furniture. Regarding the profile of general furniture retailer's costumers, it appears that approximately two-thirds of the client base was over the age of 50. Only a quarter of the premium furniture stores' customers were under 50 years old.
