Ranking of cryptocurrency wallet apps in Colombia 2017-2021
The daily active users (DAU) of Binance became the highest of all crypto apps available in Colombia, and it did so in the span of roughly two months. Between December 2020 and February 2021, the originally Chinese platform outperformed the DAU of Blockchain Wallet - which saw its user base decline for the majority of 2020. As of 2021, Colombian financial institutions are said to be experimenting heavily with cryptocurrencies: Early that year, the Financial Superintendency of Colombia (FSC) authorized a pilot program or sandbox - the "LaArenera" - which partners banks with cryptocurrency exchanges. In terms of virtual coin adoption worldwide, the Latin American country was found within the global top 10 - as many consumers claimed they either owned or used a cryptocurrency in 2020.
