In the United Kingdom, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had caused a decrease in wedding costs for roughly half of UK couples that got married in 2020. For couples that were still engaged, it was more likely that costs would remain the same or even be higher than previously anticipated, as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
