Japan: common behavior after product shortage COVID-19 2021

Visiting several stores was the most common action taken after reports of food and daily necessity shortages surfaced during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Japan, as revealed in a survey conducted in January 2021. More than 64 percent of respondents would scour different stores after taking note of shortages in Japan. The second most common action was the purchase of possible substitute products to products that are out of stock.
