Expectations of consumer goods price development in Japan 2023
The majority of consumers in Japan expected the price levels of daily commodities to increase in one year time, as revealed in a survey conducted in December 2023. More than 79 percent of respondents thought that the prices of consumer goods will increase, while only 2.4 percent expected a decline in consumer prices.
