A survey on vaccinations against coronavirus (COVID-19) conducted in Indonesia in 2020 found that 58 percent of respondents did not want to accept the Sinovac vaccine due to lack of trust in its effectiveness. Indonesia began its mass vaccination campaign in January 2021 and has approved the Chinese Sinovac vaccine for emergency purposes.
