A survey among Australian consumers revealed that around 21 percent of respondents had decided to go cashless as of November 2020. According to the source, almost three out of five respondents believed that cash will be phased out of their personal spending by 2030, around 69 percent of whom belonged to Gen Y. Out of almost one-third of the respondents who believed cash would never be phased out of personal spending, only 22 percent belonged to Gen Y.
