Awareness of traditional Japanese food as UNESCO cultural heritage in Japan 2020
Almost 28 percent of consumers knew that the Japanese traditional diet was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, according to a survey conducted in 2020 in Japan. In contrast, more than 46 percent of respondents have not heard about the recognition of washoku bunka as a cultural heritage in 2013.
