Annual ownership cost of ICE vehicles and BEVs SEA 2020, by vehicle type
In 2020, the annual cost of owning a medium passenger car with an internal combustion engine (ICE) in Southeast Asia was estimated at over 5.2 thousand U.S. dollars, including the vehicle cost. In comparison, the annual cost of owning a medium passenger battery electric vehicle (BEV) in Southeast Asia was estimated at nearly 9.6 thousand U.S. dollars in 2020. On the other hand, the cost of owning a battery electric scooter was lower than owning an ICE scooter in Southeast Asia in 2020.
