Poland: Saving time for the own contribution to buy an apartment by city 2020

In the third quarter of 2020, it would take between 28 months (Katowice) and 39 months (Warsaw) to save for a 10 percent own contribution to purchase a new 55m2 apartment. The average result for the sixteen compared locations amounted to two years and nine months.

*Additional assumptions: childless spouses working in the business sector are saving for their own contribution. Each of them earns the average salary in their respective city (adjusted for inflation). Future mortgagees spend 15% of their net income on their own contribution. The money is accumulated in a deposit that will provide 1.00% yield per annum (adjusted for inflation, not including the capital gains tax). The deposit has monthly capitalization.
