Costa Rica: bank account ownership rate 2020, by gender
According to a survey carried out in Costa Rica in 2020, nearly two thirds of male respondents owned a savings, checking, or card account. Meanwhile, the same was true for almost half of the women interviewed. In 2020, Costa Rica reported a financial inclusion score of 62 (on a scale of 0 to 100, with the latter being the best possible result).
