Leading banks in Kenya 2021, by value of deposits
Equity Bank was the leading bank in Kenya in terms of deposits, which reached 652 billion Kenyan shillings (KSh), approximately 5.5 billion U.S. dollars, in 2021. Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) followed, accumulating 634 billion KSh (nearly 5.4 billion U.S. dollars) in deposits. Both institutions also had the largest market shares of the Kenyan banking industry that year.
