Regions of origin of migrants in Africa 2020
In 2020, there were over 25 million international migrants in Africa. The vast majority of them came from Sub-Saharan Africa, amounting to nearly 19.4 million. Northern Africa and Western Asia were the regions of origin of around 2.5 million migrants. Moreover, the African continent was the destination of approximately 702 thousand international migrants from Europe and Northern America as of the same period.
