Distribution of the production area for food legumes in Morocco 2020/2021, by type
As of the crop season 2020/2021, beans occupied the largest share (56 percent) of land used for the production of leguminous food crops in Morocco. Moreover, 21 percent and 20 percent of the land usage for the autumn crops were used for the cultivation of lentils and peas, respectively. Overall, 168,000 hectares of land were used to produce legumes in the country, of which six percent was irrigated.
