
Opinion on control over prices of food, fuel and electricity India 2022
In response to a pre-budget survey conducted across India in 2022, 97 percent of the participants agreed there was an urgent need for the government to adopt measures to regulate the prices of commodities and utilities such as food, electricity, and fuel in the union budget for that year. With an increase in unemployment and job loss during the pandemic, prices of such essentials saw a massive spike and resulted in reduced consumption among several Indian households.
