The main London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) were the most popular choices for SPAC IPOs in Europe in 2020. However, they were surpassed by Euronext in the first half of 2021. In the first six months of 2021, nine SPAC IPOs were completed on Euronext. Special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) are public companies with neither a specific business plan, nor a product or service to sell. The specific purpose of SPACs is to raise capital and then merge with, or acquire a private company.
