Guatemala: most common property crimes 2019-2020
In 2020, extortion was the most common type of property crime in Guatemala, with over 13 thousand cases reported to the police. The number of documented extortion cases decreased over 11 percent when compared to the previous year. Also in 2020, around 4.5 thousand thefts and four thousand robberies were reported in this Central American country.
