Global sales of auction house Sotheby's declined slightly in 2023 compared to the previous year. After peaking at eight billion U.S. dollars in 2022, the highest figure ever reported by the company to date, Sotheby's total sales reached 7.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. Meanwhile, global sales of Christie's amounted to over six billion U.S. dollars that year.
