Impact of COVID-19 on public services for returnees and IDPs in Libya 2021
Libya had a large number of communities of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees as of February 2021, amounting to 419 and 195, respectively. In the same period, public services for these communities were affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Education services were reduced in 84 percent of the cases. Moreover, 41 percent of the communities saw a reduction in the health care services, with medical centers treating only emergency cases, as well as disrupted protection activities such as legal aid and women's safe spaces.
