Import value of crude oil Japan 2022, by country
In 2022, the import value of crude oil from Saudi Arabia to Japan exceeded 5.3 trillion Japanese yen, nearly doubling compared to the approximately 2.77 trillion Japanese yen in the previous year. Around 40 percent of the total import value of crude oil to Japan derived from Saudi Arabia. Since Japan lacks domestic reserves of fossil fuels, it is highly dependent on imports.
