Share of people with an age goal to get married Japan 2020, by gender
According to a survey conducted in April 2020, around 27.4 percent of female and 22 percent of male respondents in Japan have or had a goal to get married before they turn a certain age. At the same time, over 43 percent of Japanese men had not been conscious about age when it comes to marriage.
