Tapioca and substitutes import volume to Japan 2022, by region
In 2022, the import volume of tapioca and tapioca substitutes to Japan from Taiwan amounted to around 1.2 million kilograms. Taiwan was the largest supplier of tapioca preparations to Japan, followed by Thailand. The starch-based preparations are a major ingredient in the popular non-alcoholic beverage bubble tea.
