New car registrations change in France 2020, by type of motorization
Despite the economic downturn suffered by the automotive industry due to the Covid-19 health crisis, the number of newly registered cars with alternative engines increased in France in 2020. With a growth of almost 297 percent in the number of new registrations, plug-in hybrids recorded the best performance that year. Electric and non-rechargeable hybrid cars also recorded a positive evolution, while diesel and gasoline motorizations were both in decline.
