National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules state that transgender women can participate in women’s sports after undergoing one year of testosterone suppression treatment. During an April 2021 survey in the United States, 37 percent of male respondents and 28 percent of female respondents strongly agreed with the statement that transgender female athletes had a competitive advantage over non-transgender female athletes.
