
Job loss and recovery after lockdown India 2020, by setting
As of December 2020, roughly 11 percent of India's urban workforce was unable to recover from the loss of employment resulting from the nationwide lockdown imposed between mid-March and June 2020. Another five percent of urban workers were victims of delayed job loss that occurred after the lockdown. Overall the adverse effects of the pandemic and the lockdown had more grave consequences for urban workers than rural ones.
