French support for the principle of public funding of religious services 2021, by age
In 2021, more than half (53 percent) of young French people between the ages of 18 and 24 were supportive of the general principle of public funding of religious services, compared to about one-quarter (27 percent) of those over the age of 65. Support for this principle was substantially higher among residents of the Alsace-Moselle region, where the concordat regime, in force between 1802 and 1905 in France, is still in effect.
