Food intake after lockdown India 2020, by recovery status
A 2020 survey conducted across India to gauge the impact of the lockdown on workers' livelihoods, indicated that 28 percent of urban households had been unable to recover their food intake since having reduced it during the lockdown. This was higher than the share of rural households whose food consumption was still at lockdown levels in the post lockdown period in 2020. All in all, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was found to have hit India's urban households harder than rural ones.
