The prevalence of exclusively breastfed infants in India upto the age of five months in 2020 saw an increase to 58 percent of the population.

Exclusive breastfeeding refers to feeding an infant with no other food or drink, also not even water, except breast milk for the first five to six months of life. This includes expressed milk or milk from a wet nurse.
