Ranking of online stores Czechia 2022

E-commerce is booming in Czechia as the number of people shopping online grows. Czechs even spent the second highest amount of money on the internet among Central and Eastern European countries after Estonia in 2022, and there is no doubt that this money went to e-shops.

Dominance of Alza

Although there are over 40 thousand e-shops, Czech e-commerce is absolutely dominated by Alza. It is an online store operating mainly in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since 2014. It is one of the largest online electronics retailers that sell products from various categories. Alza.cz is leading the e-commerce market, with net e-commerce sales of 1.17 billion U.S. dollars in 2022 generated in Czechia, followed by rohlik.cz with 317 million U.S. dollars. The great success of alza.cz is also evident from the relatively rapid increase in annual turnover since its inception.

Online shops

Czechs shop online for all sorts of goods, which is why there are many other e-shops besides alza.cz. For example, the fashion segment is dominated by zalando.cz and bonprix.cz in the food and personal care segment by rohlik.cz.
