Petroleum industry as share of exports from Venezuela 2010-2021
Petroleum has been by far the main commodity exported by Venezuela for over a decade, but that changed in 2021, when the percentage share of the petroleum industry declined to a minimum of only 0.3 percent. In 2020, crude petroleum accounted for 61.4 percent of the value exported from the South American nation. Combined with refined petroleum, the industry represented at least 75 percent of Venezuelan exports throughout the past decade. The highest contribution of the period was reported in 2013, at nearly 96 percent.
