First released in June 2020, The Last of Us 2 accumulated approximately 4 million unit sales during its opening weekend, making the title the fastest-selling PS4 exclusive game of all time. Final Fantasy 7 Remake sold approximately 3.5 million global units during its first three days. Several of the top-ranked PS4 exclusives were published in 2020 towards the end of the PS4 lifecycle. Sony's PlayStation 5 console was released in November 2020 as part of the ninth generation of video game consoles.
