The number of overnight stays recorded in French mountain resorts dropped considerably during the 2020-2021 season. In fact, figures declined from over 22 million overnight stays during the 2019-2021 season to not even 10 million overnight stays for the 2020-2021 season. These significant losses were directly correlated to the COVID-19 pandemic that impacted the tourism industry sector in a big way.
