For the life and property insurance in China, male customers make up the majority of customers. Around 66 percent of life insurance buyers were male and almost 79 percent property insurance consumers. The same survey also found the majority of insurance consumers in China were already married.

The survey included respondents from 18 provinces, autonomous regions, and cities covering the northeast, north, east, south, central, northwest, and southwest parts of China, which were consistent with previous surveys.
The survey was based on a total of 1,072 valid samples, 531 from the life insurance questionnaire and 541 from the the property insurance questionnaire.
