In April 2022, the production volume of fan coil units for air conditioning in Thailand amounted to around 1.1 million units. In 2020, the major producers of electrical appliances in Thailand were small-scale enterprises, accounting for 64 percent of the total market share. Thailand’s manufacturing of electrical appliances is mostly aimed at exports instead of for domestic use.

Not only did fan coil units for air conditioning accounted for the highest production volume in April 2022, but they were also exported the most among other electrical appliances, reaching around 894.3 thousand units in that month alone. In comparison, the main electrical appliances imported to Thailand in that same month were radio, telephones, telegraph, and television receivers. Thailand’s geographical location gives it an advantage as an exporter. In 2020, the main export destinations for electrical appliances from Thailand were ASEAN countries and closely followed by the United States.
