External debt stock in Tanzania 2021, by creditor
Tanzania's external debt stock was measured at nearly 26 billion U.S. dollars in August 2021. The largest amount of the debt was owed to multilateral creditors, around 11.8 billion U.S. dollars. Debt contracted from commercial sources exceeded nine billion U.S. dollars. In general, the central government owed most of the Tanzanian external debt.
