Value of IPO proceeds on the Madrid Stock Exchange 2016-2021
The value of proceeds of initial public offerings (IPOs) on the Madrid Stock Exchange, also known as Bolsa de Madrid (BME), decreased year-on-year between 2017 and 2020. IPO proceeds increased initially, from approximately 1.3 billion euros in 2016 to approximately 3.9 billion euros in 2017. Thereafter, there was a sharp decrease in the value of proceeds of IPOs, to approximately 846 million euros in 2018. The value of proceeds continued to decline in the following two years, reaching approximately 150 million euros in 2020. In 2021, the value of IPO proceeds recovered to approximately 1.6 billion euros.
