Rakuten Insight in July 2021 in Japan, the leading incentive that would motivate Japanese consumers to try Korean beauty products was recommendations from family and friends. While 29 percent considered the opinions of family and acquaintances a stimulus to try Korean skincare, only one percent considered influencer marketing by Korean celebrities a reason to start using Korean beauty care products.
