Y-o-Y change in global electricity generation 2022, by source

Electricity generation from solar and wind saw the highest absolute growth in 2022, increasing by approximately 260 and 254 terawatt-hours compared to 2021, respectively. This translated to a relative year-over-year growth of solar power generation of almost 25 percent. Coal recorded a growth of more than 118 terawatt-hours.
