
Deaths due to anorexia by gender in Spain 2006-2021
The number of deaths caused by anorexia in Spain was overall higher in women than in men during the period analyzed. In 2021, the number of deaths due to this condition amounted to three deaths in the European country, affecting two women and one man who died from anorexia that year. In 2013, there were no reported deaths related to anorexia, an eating disorder featured by low body weight, fear of gaining weight, food restriction, and body image disturbance.
