Psychiatric care beds in Spain 2000-2021
In 2021, the number of psychiatric care beds in Spanish hospitals amounted to around 17,000, up from 16,352 beds registered a year prior. Psychiatric care beds in the country decreased by 22 percent during the period analyzed, from 20,891 beds in 2000 to its lowest level in 2020. That year, there were over 5,500 psychiatrists employed in Spain.
